Description
This is a fun activity that helps students practice graphing equations in slope-intercept form.
Expert detective, Ray Radicand, followed his suspect, Mr. M. and saw him enter a pawn shop. Unfortunately the unorganized employee lost track of what each person pawned.
Students will graph each linear equation which will connect each person to the item they pawned. Through the process of elimination, students will determine the item that Mr. M. brought in.
Students must graph very carefully. Some of the lines come very close to a dot that marks an individual, but does not actually go through it. To be the correct match, the line must go exactly through the dot.
Though this can be used as a stand-alone activity, it is also a continuation of an early activity, Slope Mystery Activity in which the students use slope to determine where Mr. M. traveled when Detective Ray Radicand followed him.
